Hot Glue Jar

I didn't think about making a video for this until after I had already started so I took snap shots as I went. Hopefully it makes sense. Here we go...

First you will need some fabric (any color, I just used an old plaid curtain that I had), an old empty jar (I used a empty pickle jar), scissors, a hot glue gun, and something to set your gun on (as you can see I used a playstation game because it was closest to me, lol)

First you will need to measure and cut out your fabric for the lid. I laid the lid on top of my fabric and counted 8 lines out and cut a square. Next you will run hot glue around the rim of the lid. I made the mistake of going all the way around the lid at once and parts of it were already dry and I had to pick it off and start again. I suggest you do small dots and lay your fabric on and set it. Then once it is set in to place, add several other dots to hold fabric in to place. After the glue was completely dry I used the scissors to gun off the excess fabric. I didn't like the way it was hanging off, but this is just an optional step.

Then you will write a word on your jar using the glue. It's not easy writing with hot glue, so be patient and be prepared to pull the glue off and start again. I just chose the word LOVE since I wasn't sure what I was going to use the jar for.

Last, you will take the jar OUTSIDE, do NOT spray paint in your house, common sense, but just reminding you. :) Choose any color paint you want. I had black spray paint from spraying a patio table so that's what I used. I sprayed one pretty good layer and let it dry outside for a while and went back out later to add a second coat. After your second coat you should be good to go.

Bring the jar back inside, screw the lid on, and voila, you have a cute little nifty jar with many uses!

Some ideas for use: decoration, cotton balls, q-tips, ink pen holder, make up brush holder, buttons, etc.

Have a wonderful day!

A Fallen Hero

Tonight I write with a heavy heart. Yesterday a friend of mine received the devastating news that her husband had been killed in action in Afghanistan. A widow at the young age of only 22. Joshua Born had only been in Afghanistan about 7 weeks when an insurgent turned his gun on him and another soldier. Megan and Josh had two wonderful years together. I pray for the strength and peace of this beautiful young woman in the days ahead of her. She will bring her beloved soldier home tomorrow. I have very few words as I'm trying to write this post. I feel so broken hearted for her. I just hug my husband and I'm even more thankful now that he came home from his deployment safe. I can't imagine carrying on without him. Megan doesn't have to just imagine it, she now has to live it. Please, to all who read this, keep Megan and her family in your prayers during this devastating time of heartache. Never take anything for granted. RIP Joshua Born.

How to make a t-shirt scarf

This is my first craft video. It's not perfect and I don't have a video editor so you get to watch all the boring stuff, but here it is. I plan on making more videos in the future. They will get better, promise!

HOMECOMING 2012

In my attempt to keep up with my blog in November, I failed. So, here I am again, this time announcing the homecoming of my husband!

On January 27th, 2012, after 253 days, my sailor is back in my arms. This is a homecoming I don't think anyone is soon to forget. They were calling for rain, we got a freaking monsoon! We saw the ship, it was rounding the corner, everyone was screaming, crying, jumping up and down, waving flags and BOOM.... rain so hard it was blowing sideways! Everyone was soaking wet.. so much for that amazing appearance when you see your sailor, no way, not in this mess! We all ran and got back inside the tent. Mind you, this was about a 200 person tent. They decided they would bring the sailors to us.. in the tent. Can you can CROWDED?! But who cares! I got my sailor back and my photographer/friend managed to get some pictures even with the crowd of people.

We went to Illinois for two weeks and now we are back home in VA and he's back to work. I miss having him home all day everyday!

Hope this post finds everyone well!

Let's Play Catch Up

I haven't updated my blog since June. The month after Chris left. It's now November. Holy cow! Since Chris left I feel like I've been busy, but honestly, I don't think I have. I'll just do a month by month update! :)

July:
Paige and Nathan came to visit.
I was rear ended in Chris' truck.
I was admitted in to Langley Hospital for a ruptured ovarian cyst.
My sister and my dad came to visit for the first time since I've live in VA. We had a fantastic time. I wish they could have stayed longer!

August:
Michelle and I went to Illinois/Missouri.
I had emergency surgery in Carbondale, IL for severe endomtriosis, endometriomas, chocolate ovarian cysts, and a blocked fallopian tube.
I had my follow up appointment two weeks later and made the trip back to VA.

September:
I went to GREECE!!!! :) That's right! I went to see my amazing husband for ten days.
18 hour flight, but it was all worth it. I drove to Illinois (14 hours) all by myself to get my dog, and back!

October:
Pretty much sucked, I can't remember anything exciting that happened. My cousin turned 21 and I wasn't there to party it up with him. I went with my friend Chelsey to take her little boy trick or treating for Halloween.

November:
And now we're in the current. Yesterday I had a job interview, now we wait. I really hope I get it! :) Wish me luck! My sister in law is at the hospital having her baby as we speak. I'm about to be an Aunt! :)

I can't say how many days are left until Chris comes home, but let's just say I'm extremely ready for 2012 to roll around! I miss him so much! Oh and BTW, I'm no longer selling Scentsy. So if you need a new consultant, let me know.

One week down..

Yesterday made one week that Chris has been gone. A lot has happened since he left. Wait, that's a lie. Nothing has happened since he left. I've been bored out of my mind trying to do anything to stay busy. I mowed the yard and I took the trash cans to the street. I guess that's something. It's been an emotional week, no matter what angle I look at it from. I guess I have been a little busy, maybe. I finally unpacked the last two boxes that had stuff in them for the spare room and got the stuff hung on the walls. I've done some laundry, the dishes, cleaned the floors, watched a lot of TV and spent plenty of time at Michelles or swinging in my back yard. My sister is coming in a week though, I'm so excited about that! We've been in VA for over two years now and she hasn't been out to visit. That's all about to change! Yay! She's going to stay here for a week and then we're traveling back to Illinois together. I'm going to stay there for about two weeks and then head back to VA. Paige is tagging along for the ride back. :) June should be a pretty quick month to get through.. if only I didn't have like six months left after that. Boooooo. The best thing about going to Illinois is that I get to spend time with my Behong! I'm so excited. It's Mindy's birthday on the 27th of June so we are going to party hardy and have a grand time since we never get to see each other anymore. Another negative to the Navy. Anyway, just thought I'd give everyone a little bloggy blog to see how my life is. Counting down the days until he's back in my arms!

Missing you everyday and loving you with every beat of my heart. Your wifey and Cricky baby can't wait to see you when you!

Today..

Today was the day. The "See you later" day. The day where I have to start living OUR life on my own for the next several months. The day that I start counting down until I'm back in your arms. I love you Christopher Andrew. Hugs and kisses. I miss you already.

Watching you walk away is never easy but I can't wait to watch you walk right back in to my arms. I'll be waiting. I love you.

Fair winds and following seas. Be safe. See you soon.

The new house! :)

Just a warning, I suck at carrying the computer around to shoot a video and there is an interuption because the satellite guy showed up so there is two videos.. I'm not a video professional so I don't know how to start and stop the same one yet.. sorry! Lol.. Hope you enjoy! It's not completely put together yet but lots of people have been asking for pictures and stuff so I'm posting this early. Ignore the mess, I'll get everything done eventually!!

I got gutsy, here's a video blog!

Well I finally did it. After telling myself I didn't have the guts to do it, I did it. Megan Born inspired me! :) It's pretty lame and I didn't say much but now that I've done it once, I'll be able to do it again! I do have to say it's pretty fun! Sorry I have ghetto skank hair, it was a spur of the moment thing! Enjoy!

Helping some fellow bloggers!

I would just like to share with you all the blog of two fellow Navy wives and friends of mine! :)

Click the link to follow Sarah, the mommy of two beautiful babies!

Click the link to follow Michelle, one of the toughest wives I know! She has just started, so bare with her!

I hope everyone is well. I'm in the process of moving and it's been hectic. Chris is gone for a while and deployment is creeping up.. :( It's going to be a sad day in our neighborhood.

Got a little catching up to do.

I'll start this post out with a little funny.. although so true :)

On to the semi bad, partially glad, a little ticked off news.. I got fired. Yeah, you read right. FIRED. How lame is that? I'm sure you're wondering why since I'm absolutely amazing and all.. It's so retarded! You've been warned, this is stupid.. The other day when I was at work the bug lady came in to get the keys to go spray the apartments that needed sprayed. I gave her the keys, she left the office. About an hour later she comes back in, has me sign off on the paper and she leaves. She walks out the door and like two minutes later I realize, shit! I don't have the keys. So I call her and she brings them back. End of story. Not a big deal to me. I didn't even think to tell my boss because I was just like oh whatever, I have the keys back. She calls me the next day because she found out about it and apparently had to write me up and the head boss said to fire me because that was not excusable because the lady could have taken the keys and had copies made and break into those peoples apartments. I mean come on people, that lady leaves with apartment keys all the time. Who is to say that she is actually spraying the apartments when she says she is? She could just as easily go to the store and gets keys made when she is supposedly spraying peoples apartments. See, told you it was stupid. Oh well. I'm a little relieved because I was worried I wouldn't get to spend some time with Chris before he left just in case he did happen to get some time off.. not likely, but could be possible. At least I got one full pay check out of them before they "let me go" and I'll get another partial check in two weeks.
Sooo anyway, more news.. We found a house to rent. I looked at it earlier today and took some pictures to show Chris. This evening we went back over there and the guy let us look at it again that way Chris could actually see it instead of just seeing pictures. I'm in love with it. It's not huge and it's not new but it's a place that I can make home. Three bedrooms, one for us, one for my sewing stuff and the computer and the other man cave/spare room. It has a fenced in back yard so Cricket will be able to run around and play and not have to be on a leash! As long as everything goes right we will be able to move in May 15th.. Chris will only have a few days to stay there before he has to leave :( But at least he'll be here to help me move our stuff over there. It's not too far from where I live now so it should be fairly simple to get everything over there in one day if we try hard enough. I hate moving but at least it's to a house this time instead of another apartment.

I guess I better finish up the laundry so I can get in bed and wake Chris up in the morning, he has duty. Oh joy.. not. Have a lovely night everyone! Oh and I won't post tomorrow so Happy Easter!

I'm a big girl now!

So the job interview that I told you all about in my last post... I GOT THE JOB!! :) I'm so excited. Hopefully I really like the job and I'm not all excited for nothing, but yaye! I'll be a leasing consultant at Great Bridge Apartments. The lady in the office that interviewed me seemed really nice and she was very impressed with me even though I've never had a job like this before. I had decided that if she called and offered me the job that I was going to turn it down.. I was supposed to move back to Illinois while Chris is deployed this year and then I got the interview for the job and I realized I wouldn't save any money if I stayed here even if I was working so I had decided if she called and said the job was mine that I was going to tell her no but I just couldn't make myself do it! I was too excited. This is my chance to actually help with bills and extra stuff we want to do. I know all families are different but when we got married Chris's money became our money but there has just been a part of me that wanted to pitch in. Now I get that chance! I'll figure out the housing situation, last minute I'm sure, but I will. :)

Chris got more of his tattoo done today. It's getting to be crunch time so hopefully he gets it completely done before he goes on deployment. I get to get more of mine done on April 7th. Hopefully I get mine done too because I'm impatient! I'm just ready to see the finished project! It's taking forever to get them finished because they are so big and the place we are going is so busy but I definitely recommend Rocksteady Tattoo if you're up for getting ink!

Oh deployment, how I hate you.

It seems like Chris just got home and in less than two months he'll be gone again. With Insurv, no pom period and underways, that two months is going to fly by and before I know it, I'll be standing there watching until I can't see the ship anymore. Until you've felt it, you'll never understand the feeling. I thought I was going to type a whole blog on how I hate deployment but now that I've started typing I'm speechless.. It's too overwhelming to think about so I won't blog about it until it's here, in a few short weeks.. :(

On the brighter side of life, I saw the fertility specialist earlier this week. We have a plan now for the next year. Hopefully I won't have to put part of that plan in to action, but I feel better knowing that there is hope and something can be done! :)

After sending out what feels like hundreds of resumes, I finally got a call back! I had an interview at an apartment community to be a leasing agent yesterday! I'll finally have a big girl job if this thing goes through! Get up early, dress nice, get a real paycheck.. holy cow! Lol. I'm expecting a phone call by noon today giving me the 100% yes you got the job, so keep your fingers crossed people! I'll have three jobs if this works out! Scentsy, babysitting Hannah, and the leasing agent job.

Don't forget to order Scentsy! :)

Well hello, it's been a while!

I haven't posted a blog since October. I'm totally slacking in the blogging world. But hey, I'm back! Quite a bit has happened since I last posted so I guess I have some catching up to do. Since I last posted we had Thanksgiving, Christmas, our two year anniversary, Chris's 21st birthday, infertility doctor appointments, and Friday is a two week underway.. JOY for the Navy, not.

We had a small Thanksgiving at our apartment. Chris, John, Don (Michelle's dad) and myself. I made a Turkey for the first time and it was really good if I do say so myself! I was so excited to finally have a holiday at my house. The in laws were supposed to come out but thanks to the lovely ship schedule, that was unable to happen but we did make it there for Christmas!

While we were in Illinois we got new tires on the truck and dual exhaust put on. Pretty exciting! :)

On December 22nd, Christopher and I celebrated two wonderful years of marriage and he celebrated his 21st birthday. I always joke with him that we got married on his birthday so he could never forget our anniversary lol. We had lunch at Applebees and then of course hit up Wal Mart and Schnucks for alcohol! We had a few friends come out to his parents house. We had a good time. Including Chris puking on the fireplace... haha.

We saw all of our family while we were home this visit and had good Christmas's at quite a few places. It was a nice trip this time. We really weren't ready to come home,  but unfortunately, duty calls.

Chris was on duty on New Years Eve so I spent it with David, Michelle, Adam, Antonio, and Cory. We played pong and flip cup and just had a good ole time ringing in the new year! 2011!

There isn't much of an update on my doctors appointments. At least not updates that I want to talk about with everyone right now. But don't worry, a baby isn't out of the question. :)

My Scentsy business is going pretty well. I would like to get more business so tell all your friends and family that I'm a consultant and to contact me if they are interested in placing an order or hosting a party! My personal website is skeppner.scentsy.us so order now and order often! Right now I personally am offering a half price warmer if you schedule a party with me for January. The company is offering double the half price items for the month of January so this is definitely the month to have a party! Bring Back My Bar is also going on this month so if you are already a Scentsy buyer and there is a discontinued smell that you are just dying to have again, check out the list, it might be back for a short time only! Also the Hugs and Kisses warmer is 10% off this month so order it for your Valentine!

I also want to give a shout out to the sailors on board the USS Enterprise CVN 65 who are leaving out on deployment tomorrow. Be safe and it'll be over before you know it. We'll miss you Tony Baby! P.s. I'll mail you boxes!

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful holiday season and this year brings wonderful things to you all! <3

No title, just jabbering..

I haven't posted in a few weeks, seems like everytime I start to post, something comes up and then I forget about it. But I'm here now and hopefully I can finish this one! Chris and I had our pictures taken by Michelle Huff Photgraphy this past weekend. It was so hard to get Chris to agree to get them done but I'm so glad I finally begged enough that he gave in! They turned out wonderful! I wish he would do pictures more often! He hates getting his picture taken! I've started looking for a job again.. I signed up for Avon and Scentsy earlier this month. I haven't made any sales yet. I do have some Scentsy parties in the works and some Avon books passed out. The Scentsy seems to be more popular than Avon, but if anyone is interested, I do have books! Please please please schedule a Scentsy party! There are tons of discounts if you host a party. I've been applying at pharmacies to be a pharmacy technician. That seems to be one of the only jobs that Chris approves of and if I could get on at a pharmacy it would be awesome. I'm making some follow up calls today since I sent in my applications and hopefully someone will say "Come in for an interview!"... It would be so nice to have a job, a car, extra money... oh the possibilities are endless! My first appointment at the fertility gyn is this Friday.. I'm getting nervous because I don't know what they are going to say. They probably won't say much on the first appointment anyway, but I just don't want them to tell me they can't help me. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. Chris will be leaving for a few days in the beginning on November, at least it's not for too long! I'll survive! The in laws are supposed to be coming to Virginia for Thanksgiving. I really want a holiday held at my house! :) I can't wait to cook my first Thanksgiving. Lets just hope I don't ruin the turkey! Hopefully going to see a movie this week with my love.. duty today, BOO!

I'll update again at a later date.. possibly Friday after my appointment... <3

No job and no husband!

For the first time in a year and a half, I'm looking for a job. Everyone keeps asking if I'm in school or if I work and I constantly have to explain myself. Well number one, I'm tired of explaining myself. I'll go to school when I darn well feel like it and second, I'm finally bored and finally tired of living pay check to pay check so I'm job hunting. With no luck I might add, but still hunting. I had an interview today with Super Helpers and that was just a completely unorganized and unprofessional joke of a morning. When you walk into an office and they tell you they don't know how much they will pay you for the position and when the two ladies running the office can't agree on something in front of you, it's rude. But that just means the job wasn't mean to be. I don't want to be a cleaning lady or a sales person for the rest of my time in Virginia but I was willing to clean because I enjoy it. Turns out that it wasn't for me. Chris was glad to find out that I wasn't going to work there. He didn't want me to be someones maid anyway! I got a phone call for a job this evening but it was for evening hours which I can't take while Chris is home. It's only Monday, I have the rest of the week to continue my search to have a job by my goal, which is Friday!

This was a very eventful weekend. The party at Adam and Antonio's turned a little, um, violent I guess lol. Sometimes play fighting turns out bad... don't ask questions, just take my advice! Lol.... Anyway, we had fun for a while, played nertz, did some shots, wrestled, danced, got loud, you know how parties go! :) But then, abruptly, the party was over and I took a cab home. Yes, a cab. The very first time I had ever been in a cab. Lol, lame I know.

So, Chris left today. For the first time since he got home from deployment. It's not for long though. Luckily. I don't like that he's gone. Not one single bit. But I will admit, a week is wayyyy better than seven months. I didn't even cry when he left. I was proud. I guess him being gone for seven months made me realize that I can do it and I can survive and I can wait on him, impatiently, but it's still waiting! Lol. He took me on a date last night to Red Lobster. We hadn't been out to eat since he got home and we felt like we deserved to go out and enjoy each others company in public! :) My countdown is on to the day he gets back in my arms but it's really weird that he's gone again. Talking to him through email and facebook brings back memories of deployment, even though it was only two months ago. Horrific memories! I can't explain it. If you aren't a military wife then you'll never understand what we go through on a day to day basis.

I had my ultrasound last week and I still have a cyst on my left ovary. From the picture I saw, it seems pretty big. I will get my results from the ultrasound when I see the fertility GYN on the 29th. I have to get blood drawn on the 18th, so not looking forward to that! But hey, I could be getting somewhere. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for us that we get this situation figured out!

Missing my love.. Peace! <3

Duty Free Weekend!

Chris finally has a duty free weekend this weekend! So exciting. It's so nice to be able to sleep in and not have to take him to work at 5 in the morning on a Saturday or a Sunday!

Last night we went over to Kayla and Ryan's house and played beer pong and beer ping. Then we went over to Raven and Vdub's house and played more beer pong. I was Chris's DD so I didn't drink, just watched him get more and more trashed as the night went on! Lol, it was pretty fun though! I had to call Michelle to help me get him woke up because he slept for 30 minutes in the truck before I could even get him to open his eyes! Lol! I got the call that my rings were back yesterday! So exciting! They are soldered together now and super shiny! Just like when I first got them!

Tonight me and Chris are going to dinner at Adam and Antonio's house. I have to make mashed potatoes. We're doing a pot luck kind of thing. After dinner it's going to be time to nertz it up! I can't wait! I haven't played nertz in a
while, it's so addicting! We play for hours every time we play. Ok, well I just wanted to catch everyone up on our weekend..

I really need to get Cricket a hair cut, but I also really need someone to give me a million dollars to do a lot of things! Looks like her hair cut will be waiting! She needs another shot this coming check but then she's all finished up with her shots and I can definitely afford her hair cut! :)

Have a good weekend everyone! Peace! <3

Life update/Gym day!

Today I will officially begin my journey to get unpudgealicious! :) Yeah yeah, I know I'm not fat but I'm pretty sure regular excercise is healthy so here goes nothin! Hopefully going to the gym lasts! I freaking tennis shoes are in the truck though and Chris has the truck on base. So looks like I won't be doing any running today. I can do other excercises without shoes on and move on to the running tomorrow when I get my shoes!

On the plus side of life, I had my doctors appointment yesterday! I was a little nervous when I went in because last year the doctor just kind of blew off my concerns and basically told me I was too young to have a baby anyway and that there was nothing he could do until Chris was home for a full twelve months. Well, considering he's on the Ramage, that's never going to happen! But, I got there yesterday and had a new doctor! He started asking me questions and actually listened to what I had to say! He left the room and came back with a referral to a fertility gyno on Portsmouth! Yaye! Yaye! I have to have an ultrasound done to make sure I no longer have ovarian cysts and bloodwork done to make sure I am ovulating correctly and then I can move on the the doctor in Portsmouth! After being off of birth control for two years, I was starting to give up hope thinking that it was never going to happen. Me and Chris are in the prime age to have children. I don't want to be an old mother who isn't "cool" to her kids friends! Duh! No mom wants that! But anyway, fingers crossed, by the end of next month I know something. It will be a drawn out process but at least I now know that someone heard me out and I can see the right kind of doctor!

Ok well, since I updated everyone that kept asking how my appointment went, I think I'll find something to eat.

Well, the gym plans just changed as we speak. Going to a doctors appointment for Rebecca instead. At least I can start off the right way with tennis shoes tomorrow! :)

Peace! <3

NAS Oceana Air Show

I went to my very first air show yesterday! I had so much fun. Chris and I sat in traffic for two hours trying to get there but it was all worth it when the USN Blue Angels flew. I have only seen one other thing more amazing in my life and that was watching the USS Ramage pull in from a seven month deployment. When we got there we were starving so we stood in like forever at the gyro stand and I ate my first gyro! It was alright, but I could have done without the onions! Anyway, we ate our gyros and waited for the show to start. The USN Blue Angels started out by flying Fat Albert around for about ten minutes and then the real show started. They did some heart pounding tricks. It was amazing. I have never seen an airplane do something that amazing in my life. I know this probably is stupid to a lot of people that have been to air shows before but it was my very first one and I was utterly amazed. I was so glad that Chris was off work yesterday and we got to go together and spend the day with each other. It feels like we never do anything together anymore except stay at home like a lazy old married couple lol. I love my wonderful life with him though! I went to the air show again today with Amanda and Aiden. It seems like when me and Amanda do something we never think it through. We didn't have to wait in much traffic trying to get there today but like retards, we forgot money! Who forgets cash when you go to something like that! So we didn't have any money to get anything so drink and after we sat there for 3 hours under the hot beating after noon sun we were thirsty! Aiden got a little sunburned so we decided that we would go ahead and leave... little did we know that we would have to sit in traffic for 45 minutes trying to leave! I didn't get to watch the Blue Angels again today but I did see the new F22 Raptor fly today and some guys parachute to the ground, blowing red smoke behind them. It was fun today too.
USN Blue Angels
After we finally got off base, we went to Target to get Chris a pillow for the ship because he has duty tonight. He threw his away the other day because he says it was flat and lumpy.. lol, boys. So I got him a new pillow and bought some crisco to attempt the fried chicken tomorrow night. I saw Chris on the ship for a little bit and then came home. Cricket had been horrible since I got home but she's finally asleep under the computer chair now. I made a 7 11 run with Michelle and finally added music to my blog! I'm pretty sure I've been rambling for quite a while now. That happens when you're home alone and have no one to talk to!

Peace! <3
